My first run - ever. Couch to 5K

Today was a really big day for me. I have always found an excuse to not exercise. And run? I'm the person everyone knows that says, "I don't run." I do have a bad knee and ankle (also excuses) but thanks to the advice and support of a good friend I decided to give Couch to 5K a go. And I did it!

I know it's only day 1, week 1 of a 9 week program, but this really pushed me out of my comfort zone. And you know what - I really enjoyed it. I also loved seeing my pedometer tell me that by 11am I had reached my daily 10K step quota for the day.  So I guess this starts part 2 of this new journey. I just wish I hadn't waited so long. The point is that I started.

Another thing I am doing today that I thought I'd never do is adding a category to this blog about exercise. Who'd have guessed?  :)
